Calgary Reads Programs

Calgary Reads offers the only in-school programs in the Calgary area specific to struggling Grade 1 and 2 readers and their families. Our programs extend beyond the classroom into the community and homes.

Calgary Reads @ School Our core program has trained tutors working with struggling Grade 1 and 2 readers twice each week.

Calgary Reads @ Home Families of Calgary Reads students gather over four nights to learn how to encourage and support literacy in their homes.

Calgary Reads Together Events Special events at Calgary Reads schools have children reading to volunteers and celebrities sharing stories.

Calgary Reads with English Language Learners A pilot project providing additional tutor training to work with English as a Second Language students.

Read Every Day That You Eat A 60-minute presentation for special groups interested in Calgary Reads and literacy.

Calgary Reads with a Friend Tutoring is undertaken by the employees of a corporate donor.
