Due to COVID-19 we have temporarily closed our Children’s Reading Place to the public; however, our Book Bank is thriving
We are committed to getting books into the homes of children who most need them. With no access to school or public libraries, this work is more important than ever. We have set up a safe book donation and distribution process for Little Free Library stewards to pick up bags of books from the Children’s Reading Place.
What are we doing?
We are working with our community partners and schools in economically disadvantaged communities to identify families most in need of books and then delivering books to these families. Also, in support of families, we are maximizing technology to share ideas and resources to keep families reading together and provide fun ideas for early childhood development activities they can do at home.
How can you help?
Donate Children’s Books
Our Book Bank is running dangerously low. We need your help to keep our supply of new and like-new books viable. One of the most urgent needs is books for children aged 0-2 years.
Check out the video below for the kinds of books we love.
Perhaps your neighbours would be willing to set a box of books on their porch for pickup.
Make a cash donation
We receive deep discounts from book sellers so we can stretch your donation to buy more books
If you would like to be part of our safe book distribution plan.
Donate Adult’s Books
We accept adult books, both fiction and non-fiction, that are recently published (2018, 2019, 2020), award winners and best sellers. We’re also looking for those books that you loved, got lost in, or from which you learned something fascinating!

We hope you and your families remain healthy and find time and comfort in some great books.
Don’t forget to read aloud to the children in your life, even if it must be through a video call – it’s the greatest gift you can give them.
