Reading Rally

A time to celebrate reading

A Reading Rally is a school-wide celebration of reading and books. School gyms are transformed into carnival-like reading spaces and corporate volunteers, community leaders and special guests are invited in to read aloud to students and get them fired up about reading.

Teachers get involved too by performing in a Readers’ Theatre. When the party’s over, students get a bag with special books to take home and keep.

“When we can see the results through the eyes of the kids at a Reading Rally when 30 or 40 of our employees spend two hours on the mat in a school gym reading aloud, you see a direct result of time and effort.”
